    Hong Kong Chinese Muslim Cultural and Fraternal Association Chairman Leads Delegation to Visit International Islamic University Malaysia--Deepening Sino-Malaysian Islamic Education and Financial Cooperation


    Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, June 19, 2025 — The Chairman of the Hong Kong Chinese Muslim Cultural and Fraternal Association (CMCFA), Ali Tuet, led a delegation to visit the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and its affiliated schools today. The visit aims to promote in-depth cooperation between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Malaysia in the fields of education and Islamic finance, and to build a bridge for exchanges between Chinese and Malaysian Muslim communities.


    The delegation consisted of Chairman Ali Tuet, who is also the chairman of the Islamic Tewee Memorial Middle School, Assistant to the Chairman Dawood Tu, Musa Ma, co-founder of Hong Kong Trusty Finance (TYC Finance) and a member of the CMCFA Islamic Finance Group, as well as the local liaison team in Malaysia. It is worth mentioning that Dato' Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan, former Malaysian Ambassador to China and current President of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association, who is a long-time friend of Chairman Ali Tuet and a distinguished figure in promoting Sino-Malaysian Muslim cooperation, provided crucial support and planning for the successful organization and smooth progress of the visit, significantly enhancing the depth and breadth of the exchanges.


    Visit to the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Islamic Bank and Finance Institute

    The delegation's first stop was the Islamic Bank and Finance Institute (IIiBF) of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Dr. Syarah Syahira Mohd Yusoff, in charge of external cooperation projects, Senior Assistant Director Wan Syarinar Wan Ibrahim, and several professors in the field of Islamic finance warmly received the visiting group. The person in charge of the institute introduced in detail the academic achievements and global influence of IIiBF in the field of Islamic finance and banking.



    Chairman Ali Tuet shared an introduction to the Hong Kong Chinese Muslim Cultural and Fraternal Association and the Islamic Tewee Memorial Middle School, expressing a strong desire to cooperate with IIUM in the fields of education and Islamic finance. Musa Ma, co-founder of TYC Finance, introduced the rapid development of Islamic finance in Hong Kong and the Greater China region through a PowerPoint presentation, highlighting the achievements of TYC Finance in providing Islamic compliance screening for 5,000 listed company stocks on the Hong Kong and mainland China stock exchanges, as well as in Islamic finance industry consulting and popularization services.


    Chairman Ali Tuet expressed confidence in future cooperation and instructed the team to actively promote relevant projects. Dato' Abdul Majid proposed cooperation in the field of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), believing that it would open up new areas of cooperation and expressed optimism about the prospects. IIiBF expressed its heartfelt thanks to Dato' Abdul Majid for facilitating the visit and presented souvenirs to the delegation.



    Visit to the International Islamic University Malaysia Schools (IIUM Schools)

    The delegation then visited the International Islamic University Malaysia Schools (IIUM Schools) under IIUM Holdings Sdn Bhd. Dato' Abdul Majid, a member of the IIUM Holdings Sdn Bhd Board of Directors, accompanied the visit. The school attached great importance to it and was personally received by the Chief Executive Officer, Khaharuddin Abdul Rahman.


    Mr. Khaharuddin introduced the educational philosophy and characteristics of IIUM Schools to the delegation. Chairman Ali Tuet expressed his expectation of cooperation between the Islamic Tewee Memorial Middle School and IIUM Schools, especially in the potential areas of student exchange and curriculum development. Dato' Abdul Majid put forward several constructive suggestions, encouraging both sides to explore more possibilities for cooperation.


    During the visit, IIUM Schools led the delegation on a tour of the campus facilities and presented exquisite gifts. After the meeting, the school warmly invited the delegation to lunch, where both sides had in-depth discussions on the next steps of cooperation and expressed great expectations for the future.

    This visit is an important step in deepening cooperation between Chinese and Malaysian Muslims in the fields of education and Islamic finance.
